About

The award-winning Loblolly Festival was born in 2009 when Laurel Main Street brainstormed ways to rejuvenate a 13 year old event already taking place in downtown. The new festival gets its name from the loblolly pine trees that are native to the area. The Loblolly Festival is an homage to the timber history on which the City of Laurel was founded. In 2009, more than 100 arts & crafts vendors and thousands of families were in attendance. In June 2010, the Loblolly Festival was recognized by the Mississippi Main Street Association and received the award for Best Special Event.
